- לִמְלֵם, לִימְ׳(transpos. of מלמל, v. מִלֵּל; cmp. גִּעְגֵּעַ) to talk against, murmur, sneer. Pesik. R. s. 6 עיד לא לי׳ אדםוכ׳ no longer did any one talk behind Moses. Ib. מְלַמְלְמִין (not מלמלאין); Yalk. Kings 184; (Ex. R. s. 52 מליצים). Koh. R. to VIII, 8 מְמַלְמְלִין בפיהםוכ׳ (fr. מִלְמֵל); Lam. R. introd. (R. Ḥān. 1) מְמַלְּלִים sneering with their mouths; v. פָּרַז.
